FIJI
Flag of the Republic of Fiji
Today's Flag is flown to celebrate Independence Day in Fiji. One of only five national flags to retain the Union Jack following independence. Fiji is located in the South Pacific, about 1300 miles north of New Zealand. It consists of 840 islands and islets in an area of about one million square miles of ocean, but only about 110 of them are inhabited. Most Fijians (70%) live on the largest island of Vita Levu.
